Chapter 10: The echoes of WARN and Little secret

“He will come for his QUEEN!” The words of the Saadhu echoed in both the girls mind, who are now sitting in the room along with the other two who got trust issues and confusion for life. They almost packed their luggage to leave the hostel but now they are scattered like atoms in a gas molecule ( p.s for the record, my science mind can’t comprehend no better comparison than this bear with my first time bad writing) “Some wanderer in ragged saffron clothes told you those words and you are here-” Aparna was cut off by Chandrika “Don’t you dare to say this random thing Appu. Because if a mystical bring like Bhairava could exist and cursed temple like that exist, then why can’t a so-called random Sadhu know nothing?” She questioned and the room was still silent, except the occasional horn sounds from the nearby road and the ceiling fans in the room.

“Guys, I am concerned now, this is…this is all because of me! I should have been more careful! I was…” Ritu rubbed her face, removing her glasses.

“This is not time for what was the mistake and who have done it, but it was about how we should face it. I know I didn’t tell you before that day as soon as I saw that black smoke kind of creature at the top of Appu itself… I still can’t forget the strange things happen around” Varshika’s concern was visible, and her eyes looked at the others. “Okay... but just, how? Why? Why only us?” Aparna whined, shrugging. “Because we entered the temple that night?” Chandrika spoke, “Don’t you think no one, I mean, no one would have ever don't that?” Aparna asked in a very resolved tone. Ritu’s interest piqued, "she was right? Isn’t there anyone? "Her mind went to the possibilities of it. Numerous questions came into her mind.

“Yes, that temple is has a very long history dating back to ages like Early Vedic India, then it got cursed somewhere like in late Vedic era like during the Satavahana linage rise, then didn’t anyone got it?” Her inner voice questioned.

“And it’s not like we are the only targeted ones?” Aparna added. “Young girls like you shouldn’t get there” the old man’s voice from the Ananta Padmanabha swamy temple surroundings echoed in Ritu’s brain. “But why only we? And why only that one girl?” Ritu to aid it out meekly, confused or to know to whom she asks. “But do you say my experience are not true? The danger lurking around us guys is false?” Varshika itched with concern.

“Who told that? No! Don’t think like that!” Chandrika patted Varshika’s hand gently.

“Guys, don’t worry… at least I will find out.” Ritu assured them and took her phone out and went to an isolated place, on the terrace of the hostel.

“Hey, Sweetie...” The pleasant yet brooding male voice called Ritu softly from the other side.

“My trickster...” her voice went whiny mode. “What is it, Sweetie?” he asked in a sweet brooding voice. “I want you now…but will you?” She said in the same tone. “Just a minute...sweetheart” He chuckled and cut the call.

“Where is this Ritu gone? She told all the solution and ectara?” Chandrika who was eating that water rice(sambar) at the dinner scowled deeply. “Right? She was talking with someone or hours like everything! And she is disappearing more often and when came back, she is saying that she is in her research program and coming back with some heavy weigh lifts(books) and scrolls” Aparna chided. “I doubt her actually; don’t you think she is in...” Varshika was about to say but cut off by a humorous laugh from Chandrika “What? Relationship? No! Our girl is too innocent and don’t have time for it. I myself saw her feeling uneasy with that topic. Hey, I know your senses are good in this Bhairava thing, but not in relations Varu. Take it easy…”

“Okay she doesn’t have any, then what about you my dear black lotus?” Aparna teased, wiggling her brows, “Well, I want a man like… Rhys Larsen? No Carden? No, maybe I wish his personality surprises me!” She looked pouting and staring at the night sky through the dinner hall windows. “Wah, Akka wah! Delulu is the solulu” Aparna sneered and Varshika chuckled.

“That’s not reality, right?” Varshika said “Sometimes I feel like Varam, sometimes I want to experience it...hmm, where is my mystic piece? Wait Bhairava is not, right?” Chandrika’s tone became softer and dreamier.

“Varu whom do you want?” Chandrika, popped her elbow up while having the last disastrous dinner morsel for the last time in the hostel {because next day they are leaving anyway} “Hmm, maybe understandable and cool like a moonlight?” She answered.

“Varu Akka, you wanted to be an author, right? You still got that spark” Aparna pointed out by having her last morsel of food. “I wish Appu” Varshika mumbled looking beyond something, lost in thoughts. “So, my teasing Appamma, what kind of guy you want? Hmm?” Chandrika wiggled her brows looking at Aparna and instinctively, Aparna got up saying “I don’t have any and maybe never? And yes, I need to wash my plate” Left to the wash basin.

Chandrika tried to call her, but she left too fast. “We can’t change her perception, can we?” Varshika said, “Yeah... she needs to work on it. A long way to go” Chandrika said look in the direction of the wash area where she was disappeared to wash her plate.
